This is the first version of the AR500. It was made only for 18 months and has the thinner/lighter body than the 80's model which is quite different. This guitar has tri-sound Super 80's, master tone & volume controls, plus a 3-band EQ/pre-amp. Think of this guitar as a combination of the AR2619 & AR2622 (Steve Miller) model. The tonal options are impressive!I'm a long-time vintage Ibanez owner and believe in full disclosure. This guitar is in excellent condition. Minimal / no fret wear. Some wear of the gold plating. Gorgeous ebony fretboard with MOP inlays. Some small pock marks on the back and on/near edge of lower bout.
Binding is excellent with signs of darkening from age (this is normal). The original tuners were replaced with exact fitting Gotoh tuners, so there are no extra holes. The original tuners are included. This guitar is high quality!
It was made in Japan (Fujigen) at the height of Japanese luthiery. Forget about Gibson & Fender. Vintage Ibanez guitars are the best bang for the buck.
This is an opportunity to own a rare & special guitar in great shape, and, it comes with the original flight case! This guitar is priced to sell. As always, I attempt to provide full disclosure regarding everything I sell.
