Built at the FujiGen Gakki factory in Japan, these early JV Squiers are notable for being the first official Japanese-made Fender reissues, with this particular iteration closely mirroring 1962 specs. As such, this Strat features a slab rosewood fretboard with a maple neck and a trio of original alnico magnet single coil pickups. Balancing well on a strap at 8lbs 1oz, this JV era Squier by Fender model has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 9-42 roundwound strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The lightly figured maple neck has a medium C shaped profile at the nut, gradually filling out as you travel up the 25 1/2 scale slab rosewood fretboard. 843 deep at the 1st fret and. 935" at the 12th, feeling comfortable and fast with Fender's traditional 1 5/8" nut width and a 7 1/4 radius.
