1996 Fender Japan 50th Anniversary 54 Vintage Reissue Stratocaster Black MIJ
A superb 1954 vintage style Strat made in FujiGen factory in 1996 as part of Fender's 50th anniversary celebrations. 1954 was the first year of production for the Stratocaster and one of the most notable features that distinguishes a'54 model is the deep V profile neck. This might feel a little odd at first acquaintance but after a little playing it feels nice in the hand NB - lovers of shallow Ibanez style D profile necks will probably not like this guitar... Pick-ups are original but the original electronics have been upgraded to a brand new USA-spec wiring with CTS USA A250 "dimple" pots, Oak Grigsby USA 5-way switch, quality Orange Drop 0.033uf capacitor and vintage-style cloth-covered wires. The original (rusty) height adjustment legs on the saddles have been upgraded to new ones. The original 8 hole, single-ply, scratch plate has been replaced with a later 3-ply 60's style scratch plate (which looks way better IMHO) but the original comes with the guitar if you want to change back.
