I have been a net collector of vintage watches over the years and now I've reached to point where I would like others to enjoy my watches/accessories or finish off projects I don't have time for. Description: Classic 1964 Seikomatic Cal. 400 33J 30 Proof J13080 Weekdater Automatic Prototype Caliber Family for the Cal. Condition: Pre-owned; Very Good to Excellent Condition. 37mm diameter excluding crown, 43mm lug-lug, accommodates 19mm strap/bracelet.

62 first automatic Grand Seiko. Seiko's 6217 World Time and their first dive watch the 62MAS also share lineage with this movement family. This J13080 houses a 33 jeweled movement that includes date complication with bidirectional quickset, manual day of week (English only) and runs at 18,000 bph without hacking or manual winding. Acrylic crystal is near pristine as it was updated by my watch maker a year back; a couple tiny central scratches from storage/use. The dial is excellent shape for a vintage; very slight peripheral patina at the intersection of the chapter ring and around the day-of-week window; polished hands and hour markers in excellent shape.

Unsigned crown does show some wear but all functions work including bidirectional quickset date. Some light scratches on the case and caseback; you can still make out the stamped casemark markings (with dolphin mascot) in the proper light. At production, the watch was rated at 30m water resistance; has the old-style "Water 30 Proof" designation; however, I would not exposed this vintage to water. Movement is beautifully gilded, looks clean and keeps good time on the wrist and winder (about -30 spd); service recommended for daily use.

A 19mm sueded leather strap provides a contemporary look to this classic Seiko. This is a high end Seikomatic and represented the start of Seiko's goal to rival the exceed the Swiss - ultimately they would launch Grand Seiko. You've got a chance to capture this moment in history!
