1970s Fernandes Fretless Vintage Electric P Bass FPB-70 VBS-FL Stone Logo, Japan

Up for sale, a 1970's Fernandes fretless P-Bass model FPB-70 VBS-FL in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Crafted in Japan, this bass has Fernandes' distinctive stone logo, used from 1977-80 and signifying a shift from Kawai to Tokai, in terms of who was producing the Fernandes brand. A higher tiered model with a rare factory fretless maple board, this Fernandes has the visual trappings of a'70s Fender Precision bass, yet the solid silver heart body has a particularly thick and full tone with a smooth upper midrange "wah" when paired with the articulation and attack of the maple board.

We've had this Fernandes professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with comfortable action and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a full C shape with lots of shoulder and roundness, measuring.

The pickguard is a dark, swirling tortoise material, accenting the warm ambered gloss Sunburst finish. Ery light buckle rash central to the back and a few additional small nicks and marks on the back and body edges, particularly the bass side lower bout where the forearm crosses the top.
