1980 Greco BE-1000 Rich Eagle Vintage Electric Guitar Japan Fujigen
Up for sale, a 1980 Greco BE-1000 electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Made at the famous Fujigen factory in Japan, this uncommon Greco is one of the rarest "lawsuit" models produced in the golden era of Japanese electric guitar production. Directly inspired by the early B.
Rich Eagle model, this guitar features similar circuitry, aesthetic appointments, and a mahogany neck-through body design with mahogany body wings. Weighing only 6lbs 11oz, this Greco has been professionally setup here at Mike and Mikes Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, accurate intonation, and fast action. The mahogany neck has a slender and fast-feeling C shaped profile, measuring.800 deep at the 1st fret and filling out to. The thick slab rosewood fretboard sports diamond shaped inlays and the original slender fretwire. The frets are pristine, showing virtually zero signs of use, and play clearly in all registers up the fingerboard.
The scale is 24 3/4 long and the nut measures a full 1 11/16 in width. On the headstock, the original deco-style tuners are present along with a rosewood veneer and Greco G, inlaid in similar fashion to the early B.
The headstock did suffer a fracture in its past, extending across the back of the joint near the E tuning pegs. This repair was done long ago and the headstock has been professionally stabilized, poses no structural risk.
Cosmetically, this Greco has a few shallow dings and scratches evenly distributed across the top, back, and sides of the body. On the neck profile, a handful of light marks and shallow scuffs are present as well, but pose zero distraction to the palm.
