1980s Fernandes BO-60 Vintage Neck Through Double P Bass Natural Japan

Up for sale, a 1980's Fernandes BO-60 neck through "double" P Bass in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Rare and unique, this bass features exceptional Japanese craftsmanship with a rich, broad acoustic tone and smooth, rumbling low end accentuated by the punch and articulation of the ceramic magnet split coil pickups.

An absolutely thunderous sounding instrument, the large brass saddles and a carved bone nut increase the top end articulation, and the seven-ply maple/walnut neck through construction yields incredible sustain, with the midrange complexity and heft offered by the ash body wings. The bass is surprisingly lightweight and well-balanced at 8lbs 10oz and is strung with 45-100 roundwound strings, dialed in for optimal action and intonation. The neck profile carve is a nice chunky C yet the shoulders arent too big and the overall depth gives the neck substance, measuring.

875 deep at the 1st fret and tapering to. The super thick slab rosewood fretboard features pearl dot inlay and medium jumbo fretwire which retains its full factory height, showing virtually no wear. On the headstock, the original lightweight tuners have a very smooth and reliable gear ratio, with clover buttons and light patina on the nickel plating.

The neck angle is ideal, and the brass saddles have ample height, mounted to a heavy duty bridge base. The Natural gloss finish highlights the grain on the ash body wings, and cosmetic wear is limited to v. Arious minor nicks primarily on the back and body parameter, and two faint sticker shadows, one on the back and the other on the bass side body horn. The neck profile is flawless.
