Fazit: Ein sehr zuverlässiger Casio Marlin im Originalzustand, der jede Casio Sammlung aufwerten wird. For your consideration is this early Casio 106 H101 Marlin from 1981. This is the most thought after Marlin, the biggest and heaviest of all Casio early watches.
Everything works perfectly, no bleeding of the LCD whatsoever and no waves of the LCD. The display has the typical green tone, very special and pleasant, which was the Casio brand answer to Seiko "lemon face" of the era. The light is bright, the alarm is loud, all buttons are smooth to operate and responsive. There are some scratches on the glass and watch housing consistent with its age as well as a minor pitting on the back cover (please see the pictures) but nothing really annoying. I took the closest pictures I could to capture and magnify any scratches in order to help you judge the watch well and take an informed decision. Considering that the rubber back cover and lugs gaskets are almost 40 years old, please don't try to swim with this watch as in spite of being a diver watch it has been so 40 years ago so better to be safe than sorry. New Varta lithium battery just installed. While this Marlin has a few scratches here and there, the module works perfectly and is as healthy as it left the factory in 1981. I have rarely seen a 40 years old LCD module not showing any of the usual age signs and culprits. Not even a hint of the unpleasant bluish/indigo/violet reflection that affects many older LCD displays and their polarizing filters as they age. Conclusion: A very reliable Casio Marlin in original condition which keeps accurate time and which will enhance any Casio collection.
