1983 Squier by Fender Stratocaster'62 Vintage Reissue Candy Apple Red JV Japan

Up for sale, a 1983 Squier JV "Japanese Vintage" Series Stratocaster in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Built at the FujiGen Gakki factory in Japan, these early JV Squiers are notable for being the first official Japanese-made Fender reissues, with this particular iteration closely mirroring 1962 specs. As such, this Strat features a slab rosewood fretboard with a maple neck and a trio of original alnico magnet single coil pickups. Balancing well on a strap at 8lbs 1oz, this JV era Squier by Fender model has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 9-42 roundwound strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The lightly figured maple neck has a medium C shaped profile at the nut, gradually filling out as you travel up the 25 1/2 scale slab rosewood fretboard. 843 deep at the 1st fret and. 935" at the 12th, feeling comfortable and fast with Fender's traditional 1 5/8" nut width and a 7 1/4 radius. The original slender, vintage-style frets show virtually zero wear with their full factory height and well rounded crowns.

Notes ring out clearly in all registers, and the neck is notably straight with ideal relief.
