1995 Fender Stratocaster'62 Vintage Reissue Olympic White Japan, USA Pickups
Up for sale, a 1995 Fender Stratocaster'62 vintage reissue model in perfect working order, loaded with the original compliment of USA Fender black bobbin 57/62 single coils. An upper tier Fender Japan exclusive model designed only for sale in the Japanese domestic market, this Stratocaster (officially ST62-70) features a particularly chunky C profile carve, dark slab rosewood fretboard, and an honestly aged Olympic White gloss finish, accented by a mint green pickguard. The trio of factory-installed alnico magnet 57/62 American Vintage Fender single coils deliver a sound that is biting and clear, with ample sparkle and bridge position twang.
The guitar weighs 7lbs 12oz and has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings and comfortable action. The maple neck has a C shape that's uncommonly round at the nut with generous shoulder and even more heft as you travel up the thick rosewood slab board, measuring. 865" deep at the 1st fret and tapering to 1.010" at the 12th. On the dark, tight-grained slab rosewood fretboard, the original vintage-spec frets retain their full factory height, showing moderate wear on the crowns of frets 1-7 and fainter wear until fret 10.
The guitar plays well up the 25 1/2" scale, with a 7 1/4" fretboard radius and 1 11/16 nut width. The headstock is fitted with Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should All of the electronics work as intended, and the trio of Fender American Vintage single coil pickups are wired to the original harness with untouched solder joints. The tremolo has a full-size trem block for optimal sustain, and the guitar has clean chrome hardware and original plastic parts, showing just a touch of patina on the bridge. The Olympic White finish is a nice milky shade, with some isolated spots of additional yellowing of the clear coat on top. Ight buckle rash at the belly contour and some scattered dings and finish scratches on the body as a whole.
