Antique Temizuya Japan bronze dragon Shinto temple fountain 1800 lost wax. Antique Japanese bronze Ryu Dragon fountain from Temizuya water basin Shinto temple. Lost wax tecnique craft in original conditions with nice patina and water marks from long usage, represented emerging in the act of griping (temple stone Basin, form it's mouth sprinkling water would have purified visitors hands before accessing sacrel space). Made of 2 separate parts (top fits on lower part) it stood in place with mortar filling, held in place now with inner bronze tube. Period: 1800 - 1880 Edo - Meiji era. Dimensions: H 101 cm, total weight 20.700 Kg + wrapping. Wear from long usage and time, 1 left claw missing, it dose not stand by itself.
