Antique/vintage Signed And Dated Japan 1953 Covered Basket

ANTIQUE/VINTAGE SIGNED AND DATED JAPAN 1953 BASKET with COVER This is no ordinary basket. From the collection of MAMO CLARK, Hawaiian actress that starred with Clark Gable in the 1935 Academy award winner film, Mutiny On The Bounty in 1935. The bottom of the basket has the makers mark and the underside of the top has a date Japan 1953. Mamo and her husband James Rawley were in occupied Japan from 1947 to 1953. James Rawley had the rank of Captain and then to Colonel at the time.

Approximate measurement is 8" H x 12" width. Basket is at least 65 years old and is not perfect.
