Japanese Woodblock Karika from Selected Relics of Japanese Art
Japanese woodblock of Karika, one of the sixteen Arhats. From volume 4 of the "Selected Relics of Japanese Art", a 20 volume set published by Shimbi Shoin. Photographs and collotypes by K. Editor and woodblock prints by unknown artists. The woodblocks used were engraved on the finer grained end. Of the block rendering the prints much more intricate. Shufu Miyamoto uses the same technique today.

Reproductions of Japanese art up to the Tokugawa Era. Published over a ten year period. Held collections and Buddhist Temples, etc.

Image measures 13 5/8 inches by 5 3/4 inches, framed. Measures 25 1/4 inches by 13 1/4 inches. Lovely estate condition, hinged to the mat at top.
