Intriguing Japanese porcelain object - possibly for use as a pillow but not sure as I have never seen one like this before. Previosly used as a wall hanging vase with wood panel (later added) underneath as a hanger; beautiful underglaze blue-painted floral design; one end has a compartment for items to be stored inside? My best guess; otherwise, unable to think of other use for this unusual object - any information welcome.
