Here is a super rare Squier Stratocaster Japan Vintage Series neck. These JV Serial guitars were among the first MIJ Squier's manufactured from 1982-84 for the Japanese market, not for export. I believe this one came off of a 1984 model because of the cheaper ping tuning machines.
All of the earlier manufactured models I have seen came standard with vintage Kluson style tuning machines. Note the N202T heel stamp. The color looks like Fiesta Red? It didn't come with it's neck plate or screws so those are not included. The original screw holes in the heel look ok but have a little wood filler visible around them in spots, the holes might have been modified at some point. Fully functional neck, nice and straight, the truss rod loosens up and tightens snug freely. Cosmetically it has some marks at the top of it's headstock and around it's heel. All of the tuning machines work, there is a very small dent on the back casing of the high e tuning machine. Has a nice rosewood fretboard, some fretwear noticeable on frets 1-7 but mainly on the first 2 frets (Pic 7) those still have plenty of life left. There is a small dibit on the edge of the fretboard on fret 20, low e side. Please look at all of the pictures closely and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
