Vintage 1970's MIJ Montaya HM-2 SG Electric Guitar Made in Japan withCase Teisco

Super cool and very collectable Japanese-made Montaya HM-2 SG-style electric guitar from the 1960's/70's. Lots of similarities to Teisco guitars of the period including the plywood/laminate body,'lawsuit' headstock, the'humbuckers' (single-coil pickups disguised in humbucker casings) and the tremolo. This guitar just underwent a complete stripdown and rebuild in my shop including a thorough cleaning, fret levelling/crowning/polishing, cleaning and condition of the fretboard with StewMac Fretboard Finishing Oil, full setup and adjustment, thorough cleaning of all electronic components and new Rotosound R10. Definitely a cool guitar that now plays and sounds great.

Obviously it has some limitations like most MIJ/Teisco-style guitars of this period, specifically from the non-intonatable bridge, but I think I've done a good job of making it play as good as possible. Definitely gig worthy, and played through my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe it sounds amazing, those old fakebuckers really do have a sound all their own (they're akin to old P90's or FilterTrons to my ears). Aside from the nut and bolt used to attach the tremolo arm and the tremolo spring this guitar is all-original and is in really good shape for its age. The guitar weighs 7lb 1oz and includes an older but functional period-correct hardboard case.
