Vintage 1980 S. Yairi grand concert acoustic guitar, Japan

Very rare and significant S. Yairi grand concert acoustic guitar, of course made in Japan. Sadao Yairi is often considered Japan's master luthier. He was the uncle of the more famous (in the USA) Kazuo Yairi, who is associated with Alvarez.

I'm not sure of the model because the label is gone, but it is a rather plainly appointed student guitar - although still absolutely marvelous. This one seems to be from near then end of Sadao's Japanese production, c.

Plays, frets, and intonates wonderfully, and has a crisp and jangly tone. Not that much bottom end, but absolutely shimmers in the top and midrange.
