Vintage Antique Arita Fukagawa Seiji Japanese Foo Lion Plate Charger Shishi Dog. Available is this old Japanese charger. It is a hand painted plate with an image of a Temple Guardian Shishi or Foo Lion Dog. The plate measures 11 7/8 inches in diameter and could be considered a low bowl as well. Stands 1 7/8 inches tall at the rim. In good condition it has no chips, cracks or damage. There are numerous glaze pops from the firing but otherwise good shape. It does have hallmarks on the back which appear to be from Fukagawa Seiji, an Arita maker???? Please review the marks and make your own determination as this is not my specialty. A gorgeous and unique plate - with wire for hanging already attached.
