Vintage Shiny Brite Putz Houses. This is a very well preserved selection of Shiny Brite putz houses. Putz is not a manufacturers name, but a German-American word for'putting around' which is what one would do as they fussed over their Christmas display of houses, lights, skating ponds, etc. In the 1920's cardboard houses used for Christmas decorations were produced in Germany.
But after WWII they were produced in Japan. These particular houses are from Japan and made in the late 40's to early 50's. Leave them as is or decorate them with a tiny tree and some glass glitter or other personal touches. Please refer to photos for details on each building. Each building has a hole in the back to place a light bulb, if desired. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Holiday & Seasonal\Ornaments".
